Thread starter fridgit Start date Aug 17, Messages Sorry for another "help me choose an amp" - "amp vs amp" thread, but I'm in a state of GAS limbo and it really sucks.
The cleans were so nice, full and chimey. The lead channel was killer as well, very full and rich, somewhere between a Vox and a Marshall, more to the Vox side of tones. This is part of my dilemma. Would I have enough clean headroom? BTW, I play my cleans with a little bit of grit, so I don't need a perfect pristine clean at louder volumes. I am in a serious debate, though, as I got the Fender as mostly a pedal platform and the clean 40 watts.
Now in the correct forum! From the original: treeofpain said:. VanR said:. I had one of those Edition Tube 20's. Before even the 20th ann. Wish I had it back. Only sold it because my friend needed an amp bad. Now he won't sell it back to me. Messages 1, I really like the Edition Tube I tried. Clean headroom should be ok for most but it won;t compete clean with a 40 watt fender.
Telecaster62 Member. Messages 3, It's just a better amp. It should be fine in small rooms or if you are micing it. I don't think it would fill a large hall with clean like the Hot Rod can. I'd still rather have it and I love Fender amps. Thanks for the comments. I love the Fender cleans as well, but I was also really impressed with the cleans on this thing as well.
They weren't as "boomy" as the HRDx cleans can normally be. Hendog Member. I have said it before and I'll say it again. The Fender Hot Rod Deluxe has some of the best cleans available.
