TXT file. OLD files are created by some text editors as a backup. The script stores commands which are specific to ADiKtEd and cannot be used by the game or any other editor. Using this file, ADiKtEd can support some special functions, which were originally not supported by the game, such as Graffiti or Custom Columns.
These were planned to be one of Object lists files. Unfortunately, they were never finished. The game never even tries to load the. EFF files. They are completely unused. These files are Microsoft Word documents, which were made as a text description of the map. Using a commercial program to write map descriptions wasn't very good idea, so the descriptions were abandoned.
Descriptions of the original maps in DOC files are inaccurate, incomplete and sometimes they are only templates without any information. If you wish to create description of your map, you should use text files ie. Using Ms Word format is not recommended.
These files were supposed to create versioning system. The file contains one byte, which is always 01 in original maps. These files, similar to INF, consists on only one byte.
But it is not certain if they always have size of 1 - maybe the first byte defines number of entries. Number hex Effect 2 Dripping water 4 Dry ice. Number Texture 1 Standard texture Used in most of original campaign maps.
Walls have Aztec drawings on these testures. The wall brick is brown in this texture, not red like on standard one. The walls are bright on this texture, nearly yellow. Ancient texture This one has brighter walls than the first. Snake Key texture Walls with key of life and snake.

Two underlords have discovered the remains of a long forgotten dungeon, presumably once built by a now-dead keeper. It also looks like some Empire guards have found it first, and are in the process of c DK2: Olympia. Four underlords find themselves surrounding a single gateway in the middle of an underground lake. A couple of Empire guards are stationed here, protecting four small prison cells. This land is rich in gold a DK2: Onslaught. Three underlords are gearing up for a fight, when they each receive some interesting news.
Three Empire gates nearby have activated, each releasing a small party intent on finding the underlord dungeons an DK2: Patrol. While four underlords have been eyeing a solitary Mana Shrine, they failed to notice four Empire outposts being built nearby, nor the Empire guards that are now patrolling the waters surrounding their island. DK2: Platform. Four underlords fight over a smaller patch of land amongst the lava. There is little space and gold is limited, however in the centre of the map are some Gold Shrines as well as a gateway.
Each underlord nee DK2: Pressure. In this map, an underlord has decided to set up shop nearby an Empire outpost, with the intent of taking it over. Shortly after arriving though, news came that two more underlords were camping nearby, and bo DK2: Siege. There have been reports that an underlord has allied with the Empire and is building a fortress for them, so a rival has gone to look. Upon arrival, it is discovered that the fortress is nearly complete and Emp DK2: Small.
A very simple map. Two underlords cramped inside a small cavern. Four gateways. Limited gold. Have at it. DK2: Spiral. Two underlords. One gateway. One long spiralling corridor to get to it. Take your chances in the spiral of doom, or go around the sides and across the river.
DK2: Swiss Cheese. In this large chamber, four underlords have already aquired a gateway each and are getting ready for a straight fight. The field is wide open, and there are numerous bonuses hiding in the many open caver DK2: The Deep End.
